First visit to PHX - DEC 2012

Lunch before the wedding

My first visit back to Phoenix after moving to NC! My ultimate goal was to attend Quenton Howe's wedding, but we had big plans.  I flew into PHX and stayed a few days with Cassie before mom and I planned to road trip through Aztec and ultimately ending up in Albuquerque for the wedding.  We packed so much into such a short amount of time.  It was so strange flying in, knowing it was just for a visit! I am still getting used to this idea of having actually moved across the country.  My few days at Cassie and Tom's were short, but I was grateful I was on that end of town because it gave me an opportunity to visit a couple of my friends as well.

Mom and I headed out on our road trip heading for Aztec.  Mom's older sister had passed away in November and I was not able to be there for the funeral.  I was grateful for a chance to see my cousins and tell them how sorry I was they lost their mom.  While there we had a great time visiting all our family, and as usual it was not long enough! I especially had a great time with my Aunt Linda Lou.  We visited quite a bit, and when we were talking about Christmas she asked me what traditions I had.  I wasn't sure, but the one thing I could think of was the nativity.  I shared how and when Chris and I bought it and it was the one thing I really look forward to getting out at Christmas time.  The morning we left to head up to Alberququre, Aunt Linda Lou said she had something for me.  She had given me one of the nativity sets she had! It made me cry, and is such a special addition to our Christmas tradition.

Mom and I had such a great time on our road trip.  We talked a lot and got good quality time together. Memories I will always cherish! Cassie flew into Albuquerque to meet us and to to the wedding.  We picked her up at the airport, it was so fun!
